Home delivery or stop desk: what’s the difference?
- Home delivery. The courier brings the parcel to the buyer’s address and collects the cash at the door. Most convenient for the buyer, and often the more expensive option for you.
- Stop desk. The buyer collects the parcel from one of the courier’s offices; ZR Express, for example, describes it as “retrait en bureau agréé” (ZR Express). Often cheaper, but the buyer has to travel. Check both prices on your courier’s list.
Offering both, each with its price, lets the buyer choose between saving and convenience.
How do you build your price table?
- Ask your courier for their price list, for home delivery and stop desk. Couriers don’t always publish prices online: Yalidine and Maystro, for example, quote on request.
- Sort the wilayas by price, cheapest to most expensive.
- Group them if you want a simpler table, for example the wilayas near your stock, the rest of the north, and the south.
- Decide what you charge. The courier’s price as is, a rounded price, or a lower flat fee covered by the product price.
- Leave room for returns if your products get refused often: a refused parcel can cost a return fee on top of the outbound trip.
| Example table | Home | Stop desk |
|---|---|---|
| Your stock’s wilaya | Courier’s price | Courier’s price |
| Rest of the north | Courier’s price | Courier’s price |
| South | Courier’s price | Courier’s price |
Fill it with your courier’s real prices, and update it whenever they change.
Where should delivery prices show?
Before the buyer confirms, always. A buyer who discovers the delivery fee at the door can refuse the parcel.
In a COD form, the buyer picks their wilaya and sees the total, delivery included, before confirming. In EverCore’s COD Form, you set a price per wilaya, per country or everywhere, and can limit it to certain products, weights or order values. Algerian wilaya and city lists come preloaded.
What changes with 69 wilayas?
Algeria went from 58 to 69 wilayas in November 2025. The 11 new ones, numbered 59 to 69, are Aflou, Barika, El Kantara, Bir El Ater, El Aricha, Ksar Chellala, Aïn Oussera, Messaad, Ksar El Boukhari, Bou Saâda and El Abiodh Sidi Cheikh. They take over their own services on 1 January 2027; until then their parent wilayas run them (Algérie360, TSA).
During the transition, three lists can coexist: your form’s, your courier’s and the one the buyer knows. Ask your courier which list they use, and check that a buyer in a new wilaya finds a price in your form.
Which mistakes should you avoid?
- One price for the whole country when your courier charges the south much more: you lose money on every distant order.
- Delivery fees mentioned only on the confirmation call: the buyer has already decided without knowing.
- A table never updated after your courier changes prices.
- Forgetting the cost of returns when you work out your margin.
