Why does a COD form need its own pixel setup?
Shopify’s checkout reports purchases to your ad apps. A COD form doesn’t go through the checkout: the buyer orders on the product page. If the form doesn’t report the order, Meta and TikTok see a click and nothing after it, and they can’t learn which people buy.
With EverCore’s pixel tracking, each COD order placed through the form is sent to the platforms you connect, in the browser and from the server.
What do you need from Meta?
From Meta Events Manager:
- Your pixel ID (also called a dataset ID).
- An access token for the Conversions API, generated in the settings of the same pixel.
Paste both into the Integrations & Pixels tab of the EverCore COD Form.
What do you need from TikTok?
From TikTok Events Manager:
- Your pixel ID.
- An access token for the Events API, generated in the pixel’s settings.
Paste them into the same tab. Snap works the same way with the Snap Pixel and Conversions API.
How does consent work?
EverCore follows Shopify’s Customer Privacy API:
- Browser pixels load, and ad click IDs are stored (for 7 days), only after the buyer accepts marketing cookies.
- Server events are skipped when the buyer refused.
- On themes without Shopify’s consent tools, consent is treated as given, so set up your cookie banner and privacy notice.
Personal data in server events (email, phone, names, city, province, postal code, country) is hashed with SHA-256 before it’s sent.
How do you test before spending?
- Register your phone as a Test device in Spam protection, so your test orders don’t trip your limits.
- Open a product page on that device, accept the cookie banner, and place an order through the form.
- In Meta Events Manager and TikTok Events Manager, check that the order arrived, from the browser and from the server.
- Cancel the test order in Shopify.
What keeps your ad data clean?
- Filter fake orders at the form. Each one that becomes an order is reported as a conversion. See How to reduce fake COD orders.
- Watch delivered orders, not just conversions. The platform counts orders placed; your bank counts orders delivered. Compare the two per campaign.
- Follow up abandoned buyers separately. They go to your abandoned orders sheet.
